The following list describes several of the client services offered by the West Nova Inclusive Employment Society Employment Assistance Services:
- Intake interviews to determine client needs
- Targeted wage subsidies
- Employment counseling and career development
- Referrals to training and upgrading programs
- Information and/or referrals to other community service providers
- Referrals for academic and/or skills testing
- Job preparation skills
- Self employment benefits
Opportunities Fund
This committee manages the Opportunities Fund budget for West Nova Inclusive Employment Society. The Opportunities Fund supports a broad array of employment activities for persons with disabilities who are not eligible for employment benefits under the Employment Insurance Act.
Funding
All funding for West Nova Inclusive Employment Society is provided by:
- Employment Nova Scotia
- Labour and Workforce
Development
- Service Canada
- Government of Canada
HRIF (Human Resource Investment Fund)
- Must be in receipt of EI benefits, OR
- Must be a Reach-back client (a person who’s
unemployment benefit period has been established or has ended
within the 36 months prior to the date of requesting
assistance or for whom a benefit period that included a
maternity or parental claim has been established within the 60
months prior to the date of requesting assistance, after which
the individual remained out of the labour market in order to
care for a newborn or newly adopted child and is now seeking
to re-enter the labour force.)
